The Bamiyan area among the Hazara people has suffered constant destruction actions against them, which has created deep scars that sunk an ancient empire in dust and has turned men into a hopeless civilization.  At the same time, the impressive frescos that are hidden in artificial caves of their mountains keep crying out the painful bullet holes that are vanishing them away as a melancholic act that joins the immateriality of the missing Buddha statues.

We believe that the only manner to turn up against all the destruction suffered is an imminent rescue and preservation of every existing object, including the existing landscape, people, sky and even dust.

Therefore, this project aims to “build without modifying”, which should be achieved through the following concepts:

- Conceive a space where the landscape and the architectural work of art are inextricably linked. Hence, by creating itself with the natural materials found on site.  The result form is a sculptural space that is not placed in the landscape; rather, the landscape is the means of their creation.

- Merge the local constructive systems with prefabricated mass customised concrete pieces that could easily be assemble on site, which allow us to create different modules and habitable spaces.

- The use traditional constructive systems involve the community and reinforce the local economy. Moreover, using materials from the region promote a more sustainable construction.

- Mass customisation is a systems approach to fulfil the user wants and needs that should be incorporated into the final design. By mass-producing the structural pieces in a factory it is possible to ensure high quality, low costs and shorter construction times. In addition, these modules can be combined in different arrangements in order to fulfil the needed areas and activities.
